Three regions have now opened competition within the National Sprint Car Rankings as the season will continue to heat up with the warmer weather around the country.
Commissioned by Tom Deery and Brian Carter in 2009, the Sprint Car Rankings are administered by longtime racing official Gary Spaid.
The Eastern, Western and Mid-America regions are now open and the National Sprint Car Rankings will begin when drivers start to reach the 20-start mark, which is required to be eligible for the National rankings. David Gravel finished on top last season.
A two-time World of Outlaws winner already this season, Anthony Macri leads the Eastern region. Five-time World of Outlaws champion Brad Sweet leads the Western region. Donny Schatz, who won Friday’s World of Outlaws feature at the Talladega Short Track, leads the Mid-America region.
Macri and Chase Dietz, who won for the second time Sunday at Lincoln Speedway, are the only drivers with multiple wins this season.
