Sprint Rankings: Gravel Strengthens Lead

With his ninth victory of the season Friday at Knoxville Raceway, World of Outlaws point leader David Gravel strengthened his lead in the National Sprint Car Rankings this week.

Gravel has an average finish of 3.576 in 33 starts this season, which is an improvement from his 3.710 average finish last week.

With all of their events rained out in Pennsylvania this past week, Chase Dietz and Troy Wagaman Jr. remain second and third in the rankings.

Aaron Reutzel, who won a POWRi sprint car feature, moved up to fourth, with Eagle Nationals winner Buddy Kofoid fifth.

Thirty-nine drivers have now made the 20 starts required to be eligible for the National Sprint Car Rankings.

With a five-race week in the Northwestern region, Jesse Schlotfeldt moved to the top of the standings.

Danny Dietrich(Eastern region, Tanner Holmes (Western), Carson Macedo (Mid-America), Cap Henry (Great Lakes), Ryan Timms (Great Plains) and Ricky Peterson (PA-OH) retained their regional leads.

Fourteen races were run this past weekend, bringing the total to 172 this season. Eighty-three different drivers have won a feature.

Gravel leads the nation with nine victories.
