Solwold Sets Sail In Skagit Sprints

ALGER, Wash. — On the final night of racing before the Kubota High Limit Series rolls into town for the Skagit Nationals, Jason Solwold scored another feature win in the 360 sprint cars at Skagit Speedway on a scorching Saturday night.

Cam Smith set out to the early lead in the 360 sprint main event, with Solwold and Trey Starks trying to keep pace with him.

Smith had firm control for the first 19 laps, but around lap 20, Solwold came alive and started chopping away at the gap between him and the leader. Using the low side of the speedway, Solwold made a move to take the lead away from Smith on lap 24 and would keep it the rest of the way to pick up the victory.

Trey Starks made his way to a second place finish, while Levi Hillier completed a late rally for third.

Steven Hendrickson now has four wins on the year after leading every lap of the Sportsman Sprint main event on Saturday night.

Dana Glenn closed at times, but Hendrickson found the right move or caught a caution flag at each opportunity to hang on to the top spot and the eventual victory.

Glenn would break in the late stages of the race, advancing Jesson Jacobson to a second place finish and Jayden Whitney to finishing third.

Alex Peck finally broke through for a feature win at Skagit Speedway in the CGE Garage Midgets.
