ALGER, Wash. — With a week off from California racing, Justin Sanders stayed North at Skagit Speedway and collected a $5,500 prize for winning the Hill’s Meat Company 410 Sprint Car feature.
Sanders pulled off the elusive clean sweep of the evening, setting fast time and winning his heat race before starting on the pole of the main event. Sanders jetted out to the early lead and went the entire distance for the win, easily navigating the heavy traffic that held up his competition. Trey Starks passed Colton Heath coming to the checkered flag for second place, relegating Heath to third.
The Sportsman Sprint A Main was cut short due to time, with Ryan Orchard leading all 19 laps of the feature for his first Skagit Speedway Spring Car win. Jeff Westergard was hot on his heels for most of the race but could not find his way past, settling for second place while Macie Logsdon made a late race move to take third. Orchard was fast time.
The Skagit Casino Resort IMCA Modifieds went topless at Skagit Speedway on Saturday night and it was Rory Smith running to his second career win. Smith took the lead from James Bundy on lap 11 and kept Tyson Blood at bay the rest of the way to take the victory. Blood was second and Cole Logan rallied up to third place.
