KALAMAZOO, Mich. — In five 500 Sprint Car Tour races in 2025, there had been no repeat winners with the series.
That all changed Friday night in round two of the Auto Value Michigan Swing.
Tyler Roahrig earned his second consecutive win with the 500 Tour Friday night in the series’ second stop at Kalamazoo Speedway, doing so in dominant fashion. The Indiana native packed the brooms for the trip to West Michigan, sweeping both practice sessions, setting fast time in qualifying and winning the race.
Kyle O’Gara led the opening six laps after starting on the outside front row and getting the jump on Roahrig at the initial start. Roahrig wrestled the lead away on lap seven and ran away with the win, continuing his undefeated streak in the state of Michigan with the 500 Sprint Car Tour.
“I don’t really know honestly, I think just having a lot of experience here in a lot of different types of cars. I’ve raced here and Berlin my entire life, I think that plays a big part of it,” Roahrig said. “This thing was great again. We had a good night, my team did everything we needed to do again. We had a great car count tonight, I just love coming to Michigan and racing.”
The 2023 series champion took over the points lead after his win at Berlin Raceway two weeks ago, and a perfect night at Kalamazoo helps him extend that advantage in the standings.
O’Gara finished second after leading the opening laps in the feature. Kody Swanson drove from seventh to finish third, followed by Dakoda Armstrong and Bobby Santos III.
The finish:
Tyler Roahrig, Kyle O’Gara, Kody Swanson, Dakoda Armstrong, Bobby Santos III, Anthony Nocella, Nathan Byrd, Billy Wease, Davey Hamilton Jr., Brady Allum, Donnie Adams Jr., Taylor Ferns, Tony Main, Derek Bischak, Matt Dimit, Brian Tyler, Justin Harper, Rylan Gray, Cord Ehrhart, Joe Bares, Robert Tyler, Jackson Macenko, Keith Ousley.
