HATTIESBURG, Miss. — After sitting out of action for several weeks to heal from a concussion suffered in a racing accident on July 2, Jordon “the Jet” Mallett returned to winning form in his first night back by posting the victory in the 30-lap feature for the Hoosier Racing Tire United Sprint Car Series Presented By XC Gear 30th Anniversary Outlaw Thunder Tour at Hattiesburg Speedway on Saturday night.
After starting sixth, Mallett worked his way to second by lap seven, and then took the lead from Wesley Shepard on lap 15. The two-time USCS champion never looked back to post his 29th career USCS victory, and take sole possession of 10th on the all-time USCS win list.
Two-time USCS National Champion Morgan Havener (formerly Turpen) finished second and third went to the defending USCS National Champion Dale Howard.
Hayden Martin took the fourth spot and 16-time USCS champion Terry Gray was fifth.
