PORT ROYAL, Pa. — Just a little over 2 weeks ago, Kody Hartlaub was announced as the driver of the BK Motorsports No. 77 once the seat came available.
On Saturday night, in just his third appearance behind the wheel, Hartlaub parked in Kish Bank victory lane in Weikert’s Livestock 410 sprint car competition.
Hartlaub would start alongside Matt Campbell for the 25-lap feature event with Hartlaub jumping out to the early advantage.
Campbell would find himself in a battle early in the opening 3 laps as rookie Owen Dimm would challenge him for the runner-up position with Dimm taking the position away just 3 laps completed.
As the laps clicked away, Nash Ely would start to find life as he would get by Campbell for the final podium position with 14 laps remaining and would set his sights on the other top 2 cars.
Dimm, who is behind the wheel of a 410 sprint car for just his 3rd time coming into the night, would reel in Hartlaub for the race lead with 10 laps remaining as the two cars picked their way through lapped traffic.
All the while, Ely had reeled them both in and brought 11th place starter Lance Dewease along with him to all contend for the top spot.
Dimm, Dewease, and Ely would all go to battle for the runner up spot which would be to the benefit of Hartlaub as he would begin to stretch his gap over the other leaders in the field.
Dewease would get by both Ely and Dimm for the 2nd spot with just 5 laps remaining to see if he could put his charging #8 machine in the top position by the end of the night.
Hartlaub, however, had built enough of a gap to seperate himself from the 2nd winningest driver in 410 sprint car history at Port Royal Speedway to take the checkered flag himself and pick up his first 410 sprint car victory.
Dewease finished second and Nash Ely was third.
In Penns Valley Meat Market 305 sprint car competition, Tyler Erdley would show his class by dominating the 20 lap A-main event from wire to wire.
In River Rock Campground and RV Park limited late model competition, Lane Snook has been the driver to beat in defense of his 2025 track championship. He proved that again on Saturday night but used a pass with just 6 laps remaining to claim his 3rd victory of the season at The Speed Palace.
