Gray Gets No. 99 In Helton Memorial

WOODSTOCK, Ga. — Terry Gray drove to his 99th series victory with the Hoosier Racing Tire United Sprint Car Series Presented By XC Gear 30th Anniversary Outlaw Thunder Tour on Saturday night at Dixie Speedway.

The victory came in a race that honored Gray’s late friend, the 19th annual Randy Helton Memorial 27-lap race.

Gray took the lead from Kyle Amerson on lap eight, and then, the 16-time USCS National Champion and National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Inductee held off a late race charge from two-time USCS National Champion Jordon Mallett.

“Randy Helton was a good friend of mine for many years, and this is one race I’ve always wanted to win in his honor,” Gray said. “We had a good car tonight and that was the key to the win because the competition was tough tonight.”

Mallett finished second, ahead of Coen McDaniel, Tyler Lupton and Dale Howard.
