FRANKLIN, Pa. — Fans at Tri-City Raceway Park were treated to a show Friday night as A.J. Flick came out hooked up and haulin’ from the drop of the green flag, leading every lap of the 25-lap FAST Series 410 Sprint Car feature.
Flick wasted no time asserting himself, taking command right at the start and never looking back. Despite a couple of red flags that slowed the pace, nothing was slowing down Flick’s No. 2 machine.
The first red flag came on lap 10 when Chris Smith looped it coming out of turn two. In the chaos, Jack Sodeman Jr. and Dusty Larson got collected, with Larson getting upside-down. Thankfully, all drivers were okay and walked away unscathed.
Flick stayed laser-focused on the restart, stretching his lead again until another red on lap 16, this time for Nathan McDowell, whose drive shaft let go. McDowell was carted to the pits via ambulance as a precaution but was reported to be okay as well.
Once the green flag flew for the final time, Flick never looked back, cruising to his 17th career win at Tri-City and second of the season.
“This means a lot to our team,” Flick said in victory lane. “We’ve been working hard, and going winless for a month had us hungry. The car was just good all night long.”
Logan McCandless turned in an impressive effort to finish second, while FAST Series points leader Ricky Peterson drove from ninth to claim the final podium spot in third.
Rounding out the top five were veteran Bob Felmlee in fourth and Tyler Gunn in fifth.
Erick Rudolph won the modified feature, Josh Seipel topped the pro stock main event and Blaze Meyers won the RUSH sprint car event.
