PORT ROYAL, Pa. — The 19th annual Living Legends Dream Race took place Saturday night at Port Royal Speedway with two drivers battling it out for the win who had never won the event.
Ashton Torgerson and Chase Dietz tussled for the lead throughout the event, with Dietz coming out on top for the $20,000 win, and his second win at the track in 2025.
Torgerson and Dietz comprised the front row of the 30 lap A-main event with Torgerson taking the early advantage on the opening lap.
Torgerson would grow his lead to as much as 2.100 seconds over Dietz in second during the A-main event, with Dietz having to navigate lap traffic to attempt to close the gap with laps waning down the event.
With over half of the A-main completed, Dietz was reeling in Torgerson while battling with lapped cars. Dietz begin to peek to the inside of the 1A machine with 12 laps to go when the caution lights would come on around the race track for a slowing Steven Snyder Jr. in turn 4.
Once the accident was clear, the field would be reset with Torgerson leading the way.
On the ensuing restart, Torgerson would go to the low side of the first and second corner while Dietz would work through the middle to get to the outside to battle for the lead.
Dietz would power by the 1A for the lead off of turn two and would not look back.
Dietz would go on to win the A-main event, marking his 2nd career win at Port Royal Speedway in 2025 as well as for his career.
The $20,000 payday also marked the biggest win for Dietz career in a 410 sprint car.
Torgerson held on for the runner up spot and Lance Dewease charged from eighth to finish third.
Gregg Saterlee won the late model feature.
