ROSSBURG, Ohio — Longtime SPEED SPORT contributor and Sprint Car Hall of Famer Dave Argabright has been named the Royal Sovereign for Saturday night’s Kings Royal sprint car race at Eldora Speedway.
The noted reporter and author of multiple racing books, including “Kinser,” will preside over the crowning of the new King following Saturday’s 43rd running of the $200,000-to-win sprint car classic.
According to Eldora Speedway’s social media statement regarding Argabright’s selection, “The honor recognizes a career that has left an enduring mark on motorsports. Through decades of work as a broadcaster, writer, and historian, Dave has preserved the sport’s rich history while bringing its people, personalities, and greatest moments to life for generations of race fans.
“His passion, knowledge, and dedication have made him one of racing’s most respected voices—and a most deserving choice for this distinguished Kings Royal honor.”
