Malcolm Rules Perris Salute To Indy

PERRIS, Calif. — Tommy Malcolm raced from fifth starting spot to win Saturday night’s Salute To Indy feature for the USAC-CRA Sprint Car Series at Perris Auto Speedway.

Matt Mitchell led the first nine laps of the half-mile track before giving way to point leader Brody Roa. Mitchell returned to the top spot on laps 20 and 21, but Malcolm gained the point on lap 22 and led the remainder of the 30-lap distance.

Austin Williams came on strong in the closing laps to finish second.

Mitchell, A.J. Bender and Logan Williams completed the top five.
