AVONDALE, La. — Evagoras Papasavvas took the pole for the 2026 Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas) season opener at NOLA Motorsports Park.
Making his FR Americas debut, Papasavvas (No. 71 Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) posted a 1:33.626 lap, bettering the field by 0.253 seconds. 2025 FR Americas NOLA winner Brady Golan (No. 40 Toney Driver Development Ligier JS F3) qualified second, followed by rookie Kekai Hauanio (No. 29 N-E-Where Transport / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3).
Kiwi Motorsport teammates Cooper Shipman (No. 10 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) and Harbir Dass (No. 9 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) rounded out the top five, with less than a half second separating the group.
Cole Medeiros secured his first-career Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) pole at NOLA Motorsports Park on Friday afternoon. Recording a 1:39.902 lap, the Canadian driver took the pole with a 0.032-second advantage over second-place qualifier Zach Fourie (No. 15 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422). Caleb Campbell (No. 68 Steele Auto Group / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) qualified third.
Edward Kennedy and Beckham Jacir will lead the Gen. 1 and Gen. 2 Class, respectively down the starting grid at NOLA Motorsports Park in Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC).
With a 1:40.900 lap, Kennedy was the quickest in the Gen. 2 class driving the Ligier JS F422. His performance earned the Canadian driver his first- pole in his Ligier JFC debut.
Meanwhile, Jacir, the most recent winner in Ligier JFC, came to the NOLA-season opener and topped the qualifying charts. The sophomore driver had three fastest laps earning him the first starting position three times in 2025; however, Friday’s 1:42.146 lap earned him his first pole.
