Hahn, Moles & Bryson Among Tulsa Heat Winners

TULSA, Okla. — Clicking off the opening 24 events of the Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout, the 38th edition of the event saw 239 drivers take to the Tulsa Expo Raceway clay to begin their trek toward a Golden Driller.

All 24 heats on Tuesday featured the winged outlaw division.

California drivers earned the most wins with five, over Oklahoma with four. Illinois, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania drivers all earned a pair of wins, but the stat that counts is passing points earned with California’s Jett Barnes, who advanced from ninth to win Heat Race 17, earning the most points so far.

The average starting spot for winners thus far is 2.25, with half of those races winning from the pole.

ASCS sprint car national champion Blake Hahn and USAC midget regulars Kaylee Bryson and Mitchel Moles each won heat races.

Other heat race winners on Tuesday were Eric Braunmeier, Braden Chiaramonte, Connor Wolf, Ryder Laplante, Ashton Torgerson, Connor Gross, Jake Hagopian, Logan Trevino, Chelby Hinton, Kameron Key, Josh Castro, Joey Amantea, Preston Lattomus, Nathan Rector, Colby Sokol, Curtis Jones, Matthew Howard, Rob Pajauis, Logan Rumsey and Peter Smith.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, 117 races are on the docket, with 40 Heat Races for Outlaw Non-Wing kicking off the run of events. Restricted follows with 15, then A-Class at 38, and Junior Sprints with a dozen before bringing Outlaw back for D and C Features.

In all, 358 races are slated to be contested this week across six divisions.
