WAYNESFIELD, Ohio — Rich and Shelly Farmer, longtime promoters at Fremont Speedway, will also promote events at Waynesfield Raceway Park this season.
The Farmers recently earned Region Three Auto Racing Promoter of the Year honors and Rich Farmer is leading the return of the All Star Circuit of Champions to the racing landscape this season.
Rich Farmer said the Waynesfield quarter-mile dirt track will operate as a special-events facility with a schedule announced during the coming weeks.
“Shelly and I are honored to get the opportunity to keep racing alive at Waynesfield,” Farmer said.
The Farmers taking over at Waynefield is the result of veteran promoter Larry Boos, who managed the facility the past two seasons, taking a step back from promotion.
“Over the past two seasons our team made great strides at Waynesfield Raceway Park in race quality and facility improvements,” Boos said. “I was deeply concerned about the future of the track when I announced my retirement from 50-plus years of racing promotion.
“I feel much better knowing Rich and Shelly Farmer are stepping up to see the field of speed continues to operate. Their vitality, enthusiasm and professionalism will ensure great things happen now and into the future.”
