Road America Sets 2027 Schedule

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. — Road America has announced its 2027 season schedule, featuring nine major event weekends at America’s National Park of Speed.

The schedule offers something for nearly every motorsport fan, from professional motorcycle and sports car racing to IndyCar, grassroots competition, and historic racing machines.

The season begins with the SportsCar Vintage Racing Association Featuring Racing America, May 21-23. Race cars spanning generations will bring motorsports history to life, from classic production sports cars to purpose-built open-wheel machines. Fans can experience the distinctive sights and sounds of these cars in wheel-to-wheel competition on the same circuit that helped shape their racing heritage.

MotoAmerica Superbikes & Vintage MotoFest returns June 4-6, bringing North America’s premier motorcycle road racing series to Road America’s four-mile circuit. Fans can watch riders lean into the corners and accelerate down the long straights, then visit the open paddock for a closer look at the motorcycles and teams. Saturday’s Vintage MotoFest adds a ride-in bike show and stunt shows, making the weekend a gathering for motorcycle fans of every generation.

The WeatherTech Chicago Region SCCA June Sprints, June 11-13, celebrates its 72nd running as Road America’s longest-running event. Drivers from across the country will compete in a wide range of classes, with the two-race weekend format giving fans even more racing to follow.

Up-close access to drivers and teams adds a personal connection to this grassroots tradition, where the passion in the paddock is as much a part of the experience as the battles on track. On Friday evening, June 11, a select group of SCCA race cars, chosen by Road America will leave Gate 6 at 5:45 p.m. for the Cheese Capital Racecar Parade in downtown Plymouth.

The XPEL Grand Prix IndyCar Weekend, June 24-27, brings the stars and teams of the NTT IndyCar Series back to Wisconsin. The circuit’s fast, flowing layout, elevation changes, and long straights challenge drivers and reward fans with hard braking, daring passes, and shifting race strategies. Open paddock access brings fans closer to the teams, while viewing areas around the scenic 640-acre property offer a different perspective at every turn.

Summer continues with Trans Am & International GT Featuring Racing America, July 9-11. Trans Am’s unmistakable sound and American muscle meet the Porsche and Ferrari racecars of International GT for a weekend with plenty of horsepower and variety. Trans Am’s sprint-race format puts the emphasis on driver-versus-driver competition, giving fans a chance to follow the battles from the opening lap to the checkered flag.

The WeatherTech Vintage Weekend with Brian Redman, July 15-18, returns as one of the country’s largest vintage racing gatherings, traditionally featuring more than 400 historic racecars. Porsche takes the spotlight as the 2027 featured marque, celebrating its long and successful history at Road America.

The experience extends into downtown Elkhart Lake, where Friday’s racecar parade and concours and Saturday’s sports car concours bring remarkable machines into the village streets. Featured Porsche racecars, special guests, displays, and additional activities will be announced as plans are finalized. The Ragtime Racers, a traveling exhibition of race cars from 1920 and earlier, are scheduled to return for the July 2027 event, bringing the “Heroic Age” of auto racing to Elkhart Lake.

The Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix Featuring IMSA, August 5-8, will again be headlined by a six-hour IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race. As part of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup, the event tests speed, teamwork, and staying power. Fans can follow the contest on track and in the pits, where driver changes, tire choices, and fuel strategy can reshape the running order.

With leading manufacturers competing for six hours, there is time to explore the circuit and watch the race unfold from several favorite viewing spots.

International sports car racing returns with GT World Challenge America, August 27-29. This all-sports-car weekend brings exotic GT machinery from leading performance brands to Road America’s four-mile circuit, with GT3, GT4, and touring car competition offering a variety of styles, sounds, and rivalries. For fans who have admired these marques on the street, it is a chance to experience their racing counterparts under braking, through the corners, and at full speed.

Scout Weekend also returns and adds a shared adventure with Friday and Saturday night camping, race admission, paddock and pre-race grid access, and an exclusive commemorative patch.

The major-event season concludes with the Art on Wheels Weekend with VSCDA, September 24-26. Carefully restored vintage and historic cars return to competition in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.
