BOWMANVILLE, Ontario — Gastón Irazú secured his fourth-consecutive pole in Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Friday afternoon.
Coming off a weekend sweep in the last round, Irazú (No. 27 Elia Group / Baly / Canal 4 / Ancap / Champagne Racing Ligier JS F422) looks to continue his momentum when the green flag waves for Race 1 tomorrow.
Canadian Cole Medeiros (No. 77 Firano Motorsports / MLT Motorsports Ligier JS F422) will start second after posting a qualifying lap just 0.331 seconds off of Irazú’s pace. Ontario-native Caleb Campbell (No. 68 Steele Auto Group / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) followed in third, with his Kiwi Motorsport teammate Zach Fourie (No. 15 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) behind him.
Canadian Luca Day (No. 54 Zimperium / Momentum Motorsports Ligier JS F422) will start fifth in his first formula car race in his home country.
Medeiros paced the field in practice on Friday morning, with eventual polesitter Irazú second on the speed charts. Campbell, Fourie and Clemente Huerta Raab (No. 17 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) closed out the top five in official practice.
