TOWNSVILLE, Australia — Cam Waters has emerged as the one to beat in this weekend’s Repco Supercars Championship doubleheader at Reid Park after a Friday sweep of practice.
Jack Le Brocq dominated the session and appeared set to put Erebus Motorsports at the top of the charts before Waters made a late run in his Tickford Racing machine to clock a 1:13.8376 lap and capture the top spot by a mere .0590 seconds over Le Brocq.
Mark Winterbottom timed third best, with Thomas Randle and Chaz Mostert completing the top five.
Point leader Will Brown was 12th fastest
Saturday Supercars action includes qualifying, the Top Ten Shootout and Race 13 of the season.
