MASON CITY, Iowa — The Pritchard Family Auto Stores Mason City Motor Speedway hosted an electrifying afternoon and evening of racing Sunday with the May The Fourth Be With You event featuring the KS Engineering Iron Man USRA Stock Car Series driven by Terminator Chassis.
A packed field across six divisions delivered thrilling action, with Brandon Hare; Joe Chisholm; Dan Hovden; Joshua Monson; and Devin Jones emerging victorious.
In the Iron Man USRA Stock Cars, Hare dominated the 20-lap feature, leading all but one lap to secure his first Iron Man USRA Stock win of the season. Hare held off a late charge from Derek Green, who finished 0.426 seconds behind. Brady Williamson rounded out the podium.
The victory marked the sixth different winner in six Iron Man events this season, showcasing the division’s fierce competition. Thirty-one entries competed in the event that saw Hare snag the $1,200 top prize.
Joe Chisholm led wire-to-wire in the USRA Modified 15-lap feature, fending off Al Hejna and Harley Dais. Rounding out the top five at the checkered flag were Ben Nading and Alex Williamson.
The USRA B-Mods saw Hovden take control on lap 5 of the 20-lap feature, passing Jake Richards to claim the win. Richards held on for second, followed by Klay Beemer. Hovden’s victory came in a competitive 28-car field.
In the USRA Hobby Stocks, Joshua Monson, capitalized on a late-race issue for leader Jeremy Crimmins, who led the first 16 laps before dropping out. Monson cruised to the win in the 21-car feature, followed by Nick Schwebach and Carter Koop.
Devin Jones dominated the USRA Tuners, taking the lead on lap 3 and winning by nearly two seconds in the eight-car field. Dalton Fels and Dalton Cullinan completed the top three.
