Johnson Grabs Dick Trickle 99

WEST SALEM, Wis. — Casey Johnson turned in a consistent performance Friday night at the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway and came home the overall winner of the Dick Trickle 99 super late model event which highlighted day two of the 57th annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend.

The Edgerton, Wis., speedster turned in third and seventh place finishes in the first two 33-lap segments of the contest and then came home the winner of the third 33-lap finale.

Dalton Zehr looked to be on his way to the overall victory as he grabbed the first two 33-lap segments.  Racing in the third 33-lap chase, Zehr was involved in a multi-car wreck on lap 16 with a stop in the pits necessary before the restart.

Zehr made only a lap after the restart and crashed hard between turns three and four ending his chances for the overall win.

Branden Sischo was the winner of the 20-lap “The Stubby” for super late model drivers that did not qualify for the Trickle 99 event.  Sischo bested Braison Bennett and Nick Egan.

Mike Litchfeld and Jacob Goede captured the 20-lap feature races for LaCrosse Late Models.  By virtue of his second and fifth place finishes, Skylar Holzhausen captured track championship honors for the speedway’s O’Reilly Auto Parts NASCAR Local Race Series.

Dave Trute won the 25-lap headliner for area sportsmen competitors.  Trute finished ahead of Dusty Mann, Nicholas Bruley, Jason Stark and Chris Weber.
