BARRE, Vt. — Brandon Gray took advantage of a restart with five laps remaining to win the McGee Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Barre Trophy Dash that opened the season at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl.
Gray was in position when Brandon Lanphear spun late in the 65-lap run and took advantage to win the Maplefields/Irving Late Models main event at the quarter-mile track. Justin Prescott and Jason Corliss completed the podium.
Ben Seitz and Dan Bowes brought the New England Supermodified Series to green for their 75-lap visit. Mechanical catastrophe would end the night for Dan Bowes on lap 44 after running in second throughout the event leaving Jon McKennedy to chase down Seitz. While McKennedy closed within inches by 10 laps remaining Seitz was still the dominant machine out front. McKennedy and defending series champion Jeffrey Battle followed.
Parker Gagne won the Flying Tiger feature and Tyler Wheatley topped the street stock main event.
