FONDA, N.Y. — Stewart Friesen picked up another modified feature victory during Wednesday’s Thunder on the Thruway Series at Fonda Speedway.
Friesen started his familiar No. 44 in fifth spot and worked his way forward to win the 30-lap main event for his 97th career victory at Fonda.
“This was Jess’ (wife Jessica Freisen) call on setup tonight,” Friesen said in victory lane. “She is pretty aggressive on turning wrenches, so she made a couple calls, Tommy (Conroy) and I were yeah I don’t know, but it worked out real good.”
Alex Yankowski finished second, with Jessica Friesen claiming third.
Rocky Warner romped from 14th to finish fourth, with Ronnie Johnson completing the top five.
Chad Edwards won the 25-lap crate 602 sportsman main event.
