Corliss Claims Fourth Vermont Governor’s Cup

BARRE, Vt. — Jason Corliss won the 46th annual Vermont Governor’s Cup Thursday night at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl.

The start of the traditional late model event at the legendary quarter-mile track was delayed by rain but once the feature began Corliss easily worked his way through traffic.

A late-race yellow flag, gave Scott Dragon a change to challenge Corliss, who held on to win the race for the fourth time.

Dragon finished second, with Christopher Pelkey, Kaeden Fisher and Marcel J. Gravel rounding out the top five.

Vermont Governor Phil Scott finished 21st in the 29-car field.

Kyler Davis topped the 25-lap street stock feature.
