STAFFORD SPRINGS, Conn. — Stafford Speedway hosted Maybury Back to SKool Kids night with Kids Big Wheel Races on Friday. Michael Christopher Jr. was the SK Modified® feature winner.
In the 40-lap SK Modified® feature, Michael Gervais Jr. took the lead at the start after holding off a challenge from Dylan Izzo. Izzo slotted into second behind Gervais with Andrew Molleur and Michael Christopher, Jr. going wheel to wheel for third with Todd Owen in fifth. Christopher won the duel with Molleur and took third on lap-3 with Owen taking fourth.
Izzo took the lead from Gervais on lap-5 with Christopher now to the inside of Gervais looking to take second place. Tyler Chapman was up to fourth with Owen still fifth. Christopher took second from Gervais on lap-8 and set his sights on Izzo in the lead. Christopher ran in Izzo’s tire tracks until lap-12 when he took the lead. Izzo came right back to Christopher’s inside with a crossover move, but he couldn’t complete the pass. Izzo again tried to get to the inside of Christopher on the next lap, but again couldn’t complete the move and he fell back into line in second behind Christopher on lap-15. Behind Christopher and Izzo, Gervais was still third with Tyler Chapman fourth and Troy Talman fifth.
With 20 laps complete Christopher held the race lead with Izzo, Gervais, Tyler Chapman, and Cory DiMatteo lined up behind him. Talman was sixth followed by Marcello Rufrano, Mikey Flynn, Owen, and Jon Puleo.
With 30 laps complete, the order remained the same with Christopher leading Izzo and Gervais. DiMatteo was now fourth with Tyler Chapman fifth. Puleo was up to sixth with Talman, Flynn, Rufrano, and Keith Rocco making up the top-10. The caution flag flew with 37 laps complete as Eric Goodale and Ethan Durocher got together and ended up in the turn 1 wall.
Christopher took the lead on the restart with Izzo and Gervais in hot pursuit but Wesley Prucker spun at the end of the backstretch to bring the caution back out before a lap could be completed.
Christopher charged into the lead back under green with Izzo and Gervais going wheel to wheel for second. Izzo got clear into second place as the field took the white flag but he couldn’t get close enough to Christopher who took down his fourth win of the 2025 season. Izzo finished second with Puleo, Gervais, and DiMatteo rounding out the top five.
Bryan Narducci won the Late Model feature, Nick Anglace took the SK Light feature, Jeremy Lavoie won the Limited Late Model feature, and Jason Raymond was a first time career winner in the Street Stock feature. The kids big wheel races were won by Levi Aszklar and Maisy Washburn.
