CALIFORNIA, Mo. — The lights were shining over the historic quarter-mile clay oval at Double X Speedway on Sunday night as Week three of “Sunday Night Thunder” delivered another action-packed evening of side-by-side dirt track racing.
In the headline division, the 360 Winged Sprint Cars put on another high-speed showcase with the high line proving to be the way around the track.
Polesitter Ben Brown took the early advantage using the top shelf with Jack Wagner and Jack Thomas in tow. Both were committed to the top shelf with Brown fighting a tight condition in turns one and two, Wagner would make a try on the bottom in three and four but would find Brown opening up a lead for the next several laps.
Moving back to the top, Wagner would steadily gain on the leaders until the duo encountered lapped traffic and Brown would again open up a six to eight car length lead.
With the laps clicking by Wagner once again went to the top running down the 7B and trying the inside line the last two laps and the slide job on the last corner came up short and allowed Jack Thomas to slip past for second place.
Wagner would finish third. Chase Howard would cross the line in fourth and Garrett Benson would finish fifth.
Darin Porter won the super stock feature and Tyler Potter captured the B Modified main event.
