FONDA, N.Y. — Matt Sheppard won the Fonda 200 modified race for the third time in his last four attempts at the Fonda Speedway classic.
Sheppard romped through the field from 19th starting position and dominated the second half of the 200-lap affair to bank $22,000.
Sheppard kept Jack Lehner at bay during the closing laps, with Ronnie Johnson, Danny Varin and Rober Bublak completing the top five.
Mark Mortensen raced from 10th to win the crate 602 sportsman main event.
