Mullens Goes Back-To-Back In USMTS

FULTON, Mo.  — Fresh off his victory the previous night, Tanner Mullens  continued his hot streak by leading all 40 laps of the Summit USMTS National Championship feature at Callaway Raceway.

Mullens, piloting his No. 02 machine, started on the outside pole and never looked back, securing a commanding win and extending his impressive run with his fifth win of the year.

Mullens’ momentum was evident from the start, as he topped the Hodges Farms & Dredging Qualifying session for the second night in a row. A second-place finish in his heat race set him up for a prime starting position in the main event.

The 40-lap feature race saw Mullens rocket to the lead on the opening lap. While the action was tight behind him, Mullens maintained a comfortable gap at the front. The most exciting battle of the night was for the runner-up spot, with Jim Chisholm and Kyle Strickler locked in a fierce duel.

When the checkered flag waved, Mullens was 2.521 seconds ahead of the competition.
Defending USMS national champion Jim Chisholm, who started third, moved up a spot to finish second, while Strickler, who started on the pole, rounded out the podium in third.

Four-time USMTS champion Rodney Sanders finished fourth, and Trevor Hughes rounded out the top five.

The finish:
