FONDA, N.Y. — The 13th season for the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By Sunoco is taking shape.
STSS Modifieds and Sportsman return in North and South regional battles racing planned for 15 different tracks across six states (New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Vermont) and Quebec.
“We’ve come a long way from our first season in 2014 with six races at five tracks,” series organizer Brett Deyo said. “For 2026, our 13th year, we looked at economic factors, participation and crowds at events across the Modified spectrum and focused on a schedule that is more achievable for our teams.
“We feel we’ve found a balance between racing too little and not over-extended our product.”
Deyo added that limited dates or venues could be added during the winter months.
One of New York State’s most legendary facilities – the high-banked Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, N.Y. – opens the 2025 HYTORC of New York Modified North Region with the inaugural ‘King of Spring’ event on Thursday, May 21.
Mike Bruno’s Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vt., occupies its traditional Father’s Day slot on the STSS schedule with the ‘Slate Valley 67’ event Sunday, June 25.
N.Y.’s Afton Motorsports Park – located on the Afton Fairgrounds – hosts a pair of points-paying events in ’26: the ‘Interstate 88 Special’ on Thursday, June 25 and ‘Afton Action 50’ on Thursday, Sept. 3.
The 17th annual Short Track SuperNationals “Working Man’s Race” takes place at the Ron Ford-promoted venue Friday-Saturday Oct. 9-10, once again a non-points-paying event.
Fonda (N.Y.) Speedway celebrates its 75th anniversary season with a pair of STSS-sanctioned events: the ‘Firecracker’ on Wednesday, July 1 and the annual Fonda 200 Weekend Sept. 17-19 featuring the highest-paying event on the series each season.
Tyler Siri’s Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y., welcomes the STSS on Thursday, July 9 for the ‘Outlaw Showdown’ on the Finger Lakes four-tenths-mile oval.
A fan and competitor favorite – the ‘Lumberjack Swing’ in Quebec – takes place Tuesday-Wednesday with back-to-back nights at Autodrome Granby (Granby, Quebec) and Le RPM Speedway (Saint-Marcel-de-Richelieu, Quebec) Tuesday-Wednesday July 28-29.
The North Region concludes at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, N.Y., with the ‘Hard Clay Finale’ kicking off Eastern States Weekend on Thursday, Oct. 22.
Port Royal Speedway – the beloved Keystone State facility known as the ‘Speed Palace’ – launches the STSS NJ Quality Drywall Modified South Region with the ‘Speed Showcase’ on Friday-Saturday March 13-14 (weather date: March 15).
Bridgeport (N.J.) Motorsports Park takes on two STSS dates: Sunday, March 22 for the ‘60 Over Special’ and Tuesday, July 14 with the ‘South Jersey Shootout’ event.
Like Bridgeport, the thrill-a-minute Action Track USA in Kutztown, Pa., sits on the schedule twice with the traditional ‘Berks County Brawl’ on Tuesday, May 26 and a second visit during the 155th annual Kutztown Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
New Egypt Speedway is slated for Tuesday, June 9 with the annual ‘Dirty Jersey’ program which fell to the weather on multiple occasions last year.
After a year away from the First State, the series returns to Delaware at new-to-the-STSS Middleford Speedway outside of Seaford, Del., on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Md.’s Hagerstown Speedway welcomed the ‘Octoberfest’ back last October with a warm welcome by competitors who flocked to the red clay half-mile oval. The ‘Octoberfest’ program concludes the South Region for ’26 on Friday-Saturday Oct. 16-17.
The STSS Sportsman of the Madsen Overhead Doors Inc. North Region embark on an expanded schedule that gets underway at Lebanon Valley on Thursday, May 21.
Three days later, the Sportsman take part in their only standalone event on Sunday, May 24 when Brookfield (N.Y.) Speedway on the historic Madison County Fairgrounds serves as the setting for the ‘Fast Cars & Freedom’ event.
In counterpart events with the Modifieds, the STSS Sportsman North Region visits Afton (June 25 & Sept. 3), Fonda (July 1 & Sept. 17-19) and for the first time ever Granby and Le RPM in Quebec (July 28-29).
The points championship will be decided during the Fonda 200 weekend prior to the non-points “Working Man’s Race” at Afton Oct. 9-10.
After an abbreviated ’25 season, the Belmont’s Garage Sportsman South Region roars into ’26 with a beefed-up slate starting March 13-14 with the ‘Speed Showcase’ at Port Royal.
Other events on the South slate are Bridgeport (March 22 and July 14), New Egypt (June 9), a debut at Middleford (Aug. 25) and Hagerstown’s rejuvenated ‘Octoberfest’ event (Oct. 16-17).
