Ryan Gustin is a contender week in and week out on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series trail, but his name was rarely mentioned among the superstars of the sport. That hanged on Saturday night when Gustin added a crown jewel victory and $100,000 to his winning résumé.
A 13-time winner in World of Outlaws competition, Gustin started outside the front row in
Saturday night’s 38 th annual USA Nationals at Wisconsin’s Cedar Lake Speedway. Gustin trapped leader Garrett Alberson behind a lapped car on the 13 th circuit to take the lead.
Leading the remainder of the 100 laps, Gustin held off 16 th -starting Mike Marlar to earn his first crown jewel victory.
