CRYSTAL, Mich. — The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels completed the 2025 Memorial Day weekend at Crystal Motor Speedway Sunday evening and Tyler Erb led all 35 laps of the Valvoline A-Main on his way to claiming a $7,500 payday.
Erb jumpedto the race lead at the start of the Valvoline A-Main feature event, Colton Burdette, Devin Shiels, Brandon Thirlby, and Chad Finley in pursuit. The first caution would wave on lap two when Ryan Lanphierd and Austin Lay would spin in turn four.
Erb would control the restart, with Shiels taking second from Burdette and Finley would grab fifth from Thirlby. The running order in the top five would remain the same as the caution would wave again on lap six when Seth Daniels would slow in turn three with a flat tire (would change and return to action).
This restart would again see Erb control the action, with Burdette reclaiming second, while Finley and Dona Marcoullier going to fourth and fifth and shuffle Finley back to sixth. Erb would begin to extend his lead over the field by lap ten and by lap fifteen would begin to lap slower traffic.
A caution would slow the action again on lap seventeen when Rod Conley would loop his machine in turn two. The restart would again see Erb maintain the lead, followed by Burdette, Shiels, Marcouller, while Rusty Schlenk would work past Finley to make his way into the top five.
Ryan Lanphierd would slide over the banking in turn two and would be done for the night. The restart would not see a full lap made as Jeff Babcock’s machine would roll to a stop in turn three and be done for the event.
The final restart would see Erb stay out front, followed by Burdette, Shiels, Marcoullier, and Schlenk. Erb would build a comfortable lead and began lapping slower traffic on lap twenty-seven and would be masterful in traffic over the final few circuits to claim the victory, with Burdette finishing second.
Marcoullier would get around Shiels on the final circuit to claim third, with Shiels fourth and Schlenk finishing fifth.
