Marlar Banks $30,000 Spring Thaw

BULLS GAP, Tenn. — Mike Marlar claimed the $30,000 top prize as the XR Super Series kicked off its campaign with Saturday night’s Spring Thaw at Volunteer Speedway.

Marlar grabbed the lead when early pacesetter Dale McDowell slowed on lap 14 and paced the remainder of the 60-lap event to capture the big money, holding off a late race challenge from Devin Moran.

Moran finished second, with Jonathan Davenport, Chris Ferguson and Daulton Wilson completing the top five.

Brandon Overton was fast qualifier for the 34-car field with a lap of 12.009 seconds.
