Hirschman Does It Again In North-South Shootout

ASHEBORO, N.C. — Matt Hirschman avoided the carnage to win the North-South Shootout asphalt-type modified race at Caraway Speedway for the 10th time.

It was the 22nd annual John Blewett III Memorial event and Hirschman turned in a dominant performance that only added to a season that included a Race of Champions triumph and a ninth Monaco Modified Tri-Track title.

While Hirschman was unchallenged it was not as easy race as only 14 of the 32 starters finished the 125-lap race that lasted nearly three hours.

Hirschman led Jake Crum to the checkered flag by 1.966 seconds.

Carson Loftin, Tyler Catalano and Jimmy Blewett completed the top five.
