BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Saturday’s SPEARS CARS Tour West opener at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway saw a battle between an up-and-coming star and one of NASCAR’s greatest duke it out.
After taking the lead early on, Harvick, the 2014 NASCAR Cup Series champion, led until a caution flag waved on lap 92 of the 125-lap event.

The next restart saw Dawson Sutton overtake his Rackley WAR teammate, where Sutton would go unmatched for the remainder of the race.
Sutton is set to compete with Rackley WAR full time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this season.
Derek Thorn snagged third-place ahead of Jace Hansen and Vito Cancilla.
The series heads to Havasu 95 Speedway on Feb. 8 for its next event.
