IRWINDALE, Calif. — The All-Star Showdown, originally scheduled for Feb. 1-3, at Irwindale Speedway has been postponed to May 16-18 due to impending weather.
SRL (Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series, Spears SRL National Series) and Irwindale leadership made the decision due to the “high likelihood of severe schedule disruption throughout the planned race weekend.”
The two sides stated that “With predicted conditions washing out two of the planned three-day competition schedule, it was determined that this would negatively impact the event as a whole.”
Notably, the L.A. Coliseum, set to host the annual NASCAR Cup Series ‘Clash’ on Feb. 3, is located approximately 30 minutes from Irwindale, making the exhibition race at risk for potential weather as well.
The season opener for both the SRL National Series and Southwest Tour Series is now set for March 23 at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif.
