Dudley & Carr Share IHRA Stock Car Laurels

FAIRLAWN, Va. — A new era of stock car racing began Saturday afternoon at Pulaski County Motorsports Park.

The inaugural IHRA Stock Car Series event was run with Kyle Dudley and Brandon Carr claiming victories in the IHRA 225 for pro Late Models.

Dudley led all 125 laps of the debut feature for the new limited sportsman division and was rewarded with a $25,000 check.

“We had a really good car,” Dudley said live on SPEED SPORT 1. “The car took off really well on restarts, we just had everything we needed. We got a little tight at the end, I can’t complain too much. We’re gonna party this one up tonight.”

Dudley held off a late charge from Coy Beard to cement the victory, with Ryan Wilson, Kade Brown and Derrick Lancaster completing the top five.

Carr led the majority of the way in the 100-lap Pro Late Model event on the four-tenths-mile asphalt track, beating Nick Loden to the checkered flag.

“It’s just a relief,” Carr said. “I made a few mistakes on the restarts, so that’s why I need to work on. The car was amazing. It was just cruising, and I knew if I don’t make any mistakes on the restart, I would bring it home.”

Behind Loden came J.P. Crabtree, Jeremy Williams and Martin Nesbitt.
