OWOSSO, Mich. — Kyle Crump spoiled the party Wednsday night for all the Harvick fans who made the trip to Owosso Speedway for the Masters of the Pros 200.
Crump raced from 27th starting position to claim the victory in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour main event.
Crump did not qualify after changing an engine in his mount following practice. Still he drove through the field to win his sixth consecutive start in the series dating back to 2023.
Taking the lead on lap 119, Crump battled with Kyle Steckly during the middle stages of the race and held off a late charge from teenager Keelan Harvick to win by .359 seconds, and bank the $25,000 top prize.
“I’m a bit lost for words,” said Crump. “I didn’t have any A/C unit or anything there. It was just so hot. Man, what about Keelan Harvick? He was giving me everything I had. I had a slip-up a in three, and he was ready there to pounce.”
Harvick finished second, with Treyten Lapcevich, Chase Pinsonneault and Austin Hill completing the top five.
Harvick’s father Kevin finished 18th.
