Bump & Run Lifts Brent Crews

ASHEBORO, N.C. — It all came down to the last lap and teenager Brent Crews delivered team owner Kevin Harvick a victory in Wednesday night’s CARS Tour late model stock car feature at Caraway Speedway.

A late-race caution flag set up a seven-lap dash to the finish in the 125-lap event and Crews used a bump-and-run maneuver to slip past Connor Hall in turns three and four on the final lap.

Crews, who won last weekend’s Trans-Am TA main event, held off NASCAR Cup Series regular William Byron by .270 seconds to earn his second series victory of the season.

Hall came home third, with Jared Fryar and Carson Kvapil rounding out the top five.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Corey Heim was uninjured in a wild crash that saw his car flip.

Tristan McKee held off Conner Jones to win the companion pro late model feature.

The finish:

Brent Crews, William Byron, Connor Hall, Jared Fryar, Carson Kvapil, Layne Riggs, Connor Zilisch, Dylan Ward, Ronnie Bassett Jr., Ryan Millington, Treyten Lapcevich, Conner Jones, Andrew Grady, Jacob Heafner, Deac McCaskill, Bobby McCarty, Chad McCumbee, Brandon Pierce, Bryce Applegate, Katie Hettinger, Jason Kitzmiller, Mini Tyrrell, Brenden Queen, Corey Heim, Kade Brown, Heath Causey.
