Atwell Inherits $30,000 Late Model Prize

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — Michael Atwell didn’t cross the finish line first, but he still earned the $30,000 top prize in Saturday’s Bill Bigley Memorial 128 super late model race at 4-17 Southern Speedway. 

Ty Majeski took the checkered flag first but was disqualified during post-race inspection because of a gun-drilled bolt in the car’s rear suspension.

Atwell was elevated to the victory in what may have been the final race at the track.

Austin Nason claimed runner-up honors with Derek Kraus, Michael Goddard and Anthony Sergi completing the top five.
