Tyler Tomassi To Make Xfinity Series Debut With MBM

STATESVILLE, N.C. — Tyler Tomassi will drive the No. 66 MBM  Motorsports Ford Mustang Dark Horse in two NASCAR Xfinity Series events early in the season, beginning  at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in March and continuing at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway in  April.

The West Greenwich, Rhode Island native is rapidly climbing the stock car ranks.  With considerable late model experience as a base, Tomassi broke onto the national scene last year with his maiden starts in both the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series  and the ARCA Menards Series.

Now the 21-year-old will look to debut in the Xfinity Series in the 250-lap race at Martinsville on March 29.

“I’m honored to be making my Xfinity Series debut with MBM. Getting here has  taken a lot of hard work and support from so many people. I want to give a huge  thank you to Carl Long and the team at MBM Motorsports for giving me this  incredible opportunity,” said Tomassi.

“I’m beyond grateful to my team and everyone who’s supported me along the way.  This is a big step in my career and I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got. I can’t wait  to get on the track and make the most of this opportunity!”

Tomassi’s second Xfinity Series appearance is scheduled for the SciAps 300 at Bristol  on April 12. He has the opportunity to become the first Xfinity Series driver from Rhode Island to start a race in the last 25 years.

MBM Motorsports team owner Carl Long is hopeful of growing this partnership into additional races.

“MBM is where a lot of young drivers get their start,” said Long. “I am looking forward to putting  Tyler behind the wheel to begin his Xfinity Series career. If all goes well, this should  develop into even more races.

“Who knows, Tyler may have a shot at his first Cup  Series start here in the next few years.”

MBM will return to using No. 66 in Xfinity Series competition in 2025, after making a  switch to No. 13 for the second half of 2024.
