Joe Gibbs Racing’s Taylor Gray scored his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series pole ahead of Saturday’s event at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Aboard the No. 54 Toyota, Gray outpaced JR Motorsports’ Connor Zilisch by 0.079 seconds.
A trio of Chevrolets followed suit with Nick Sanchez (third), last week’s winner Justin Allgaier (fourth) and Christian Eckes (fifth).
Two Haas Factor Team Fords reached the top 10 with Sam Mayer qualifying sixth and Sheldon Creed in ninth.
Part-time Xfinity Series driver and last year’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Justin Bonsignore starts seventh.
Matt DiBenedetto qualified his Viking Motorsport Chevrolet in 10th.
Notably, Kaulig Racing’s Josh Williams will start the event after Cup Series driver Ty Dillon filled in for practice and qualifying. According to the team, Williams is dealing with pneumonia.
While Williams will start the race, Dillon will be “on standby for a potential in-race swap.”
He starts 11th.
