Season In The Rearview: Harrison Burton

Harrison Burton’s 2024 campaign was a tumultuous one aboard the Wood Brothers Racing No. 21 Ford Mustang.

Prior to the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona (Fla.) Int’l Speedway in August, Burton was 34th in the standings with one top-10 finish. However, his season saw the highest of highs after he wheeled the famed No. 21 car to victory lane at Daytona to earn the team its 100th win in the NASCAR Cup Series.

It was Burton’s first career Cup Series victory in three full-time seasons. The win locked Burton into the 16-driver playoffs.

While Burton secured a spot in the postseason, the 24-year-old was a first round exit after an average finish of 30th in the Round of 16.

Improvements were apparent despite dropping out of the title hunt as Burton notched three top-20 finishes in the final seven races.

With Josh Berry moving over to replace Burton next season, the second generation racer will compete for a NASCAR Xfinity Series championship with AM Racing in 2025.
