Burton To Remain With Wood Brothers

TALLADEGA, Ala. — Harrison Burton will return as the driver of Wood Brothers Racing’s No. 21 Ford in the NASCAR Cup Series next season.

Burton confirmed the news to The Athletic on Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway.

The 22-year-old Burton has four top-10 finishes in two seasons with the legendary racing team.

Burton had been the topic of rumors in recent weeks with plenty of speculation regarding his return to the team.

“At the end of the day, it’s fairly easy for me because I am happy where I’m at, and I hope to continue to race where I’m at,” Burton told The Athletic. “You know, it’s fairly easy for me to kind of just go to work with the guys that I’ve worked with for the last year and a half or so, and yeah, it’s not super distracting at this point.”

Burton, who is the son of former driver Jeff Burton, won four times in the Xfinity Series before joining forces with the Wood Brothers.
