Ruggiero Claims Charlotte Truck Pole

CONCORD, N.C. — Giovanni Ruggiero won the pole for Friday night’s North Carolina Education 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway as the TRICON Garage team swept the top three qualifying spots.

The driver of the No. 17 Toyota turned a lap of 30.177 seconds at 178.944 mph to take the top spot, earning his first pole in six career Craftsman Truck Series races.

The 18-year-old driver edged teammate Tanner Gray, who will share the second row.

Point leader Corey Heim was third in the No. 11 TRICON entry, while Neice Motorsports Chevrolet drivers Ross Chastain and Kaden Honeycutt fill the top five.
