Riggs Leads Front Row Sweep In Truck Qualifying

DARLINGTON, S.C. — Layne Riggs put his Front Row Motorsports Ford on the pole for Saturday’s Sober or Slammer 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Darlington Raceway during qualifying on Friday afternoon.

Riggs, 23, ran a best lap of 29.323 seconds at 167.705 mph on the 1.333-mile race track to earn his second pole of the season.

Riggs’ teammate, Chandler Smith, will start second in what is the first race of the Truck Series Playoffs.

Point leader Corey Heim, a seven-time winner this season, will start third in the TRICON Garage Toyota.

Grant Enfinger (Chevrolet) and Kaden Honeycutt (Toyota) completed the top five during qualifying.

The second five were Giovanni Ruggiero, Daniel Hemric, Ty Majeski, Corey LaJoie and Tyler Ankrum.
