CONCORD, N.C. — Daniel Dye has been indefinitely suspended from NASCAR on Tuesday evening.
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver was suspended after making insensitive comments made during a recent livestream.
The driver of the No. 10 Kaulig Racing Ram was penalized under Section 4.3.C in the NASCAR Rule Book, which states in part, “NASCAR Members shall not make … a public statement or communication that criticizes, ridicules, or otherwise disparages another person based upon that person’s race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, or handicapping condition.”
Dye must complete sensitivity training before he may return to competition.
Kaulig Racing has also suspended Dye.
Dye apologized in a statement made on his social media: “I didn’t think enough before I spoke, and I in no way meant any harm. I know that intention does not erase impact and I need to do better.”
