SEDALIA, Mo. — Ryan Timms would hold court at the front of the field at the historic Missouri State Fair Speedway to claim his second career win with the POWRi Honest Abe Roofing 410 Outlaw Sprint League.
Timms led 21 of the 25 laps.
Establishing the feature field with high-point qualifier Jace Park and Timms lined up on the front row, Timms would take the initial on-track advantage, with Park, Scotty Theil, Brian Brown and Ayrton Gennetten forming the early running top five.
Overtaking for the top spot in the early stages of the 25-lap feature, Theil would find the high side to his liking as Timms would fade to second, with Brown, Park, Xavier Doney and Tasker Phillips all sharing time inside the contending top five.
Retaking the top spot after four laps, Timms would find the winning momentum through turns three and four to shoot into the preferred position, with a late-race restart shaking up the front-running group.
Finding speed all night after leading 21 laps, Ryan Timms would advance a spot throughout the 25-lap feature event to claim his first league win of the year in an instant classic at the historic half-mile.
“The car was bad fast, and I was very impressed with the track tonight. I had the wing collapse on the first lap and got a little worried, but it held and didn’t hurt the running too bad,” said Timms. “I got a little lucky when Theil got to the lead; I was able to change up my line and go low to find the grip.”
Remaining close after great restarts, Brown would cruise into the runner-up position late as Park would conclude the podium placements, with four-lap leader Scotty Theil and Ayrton Gennetten rounding out the top five.
