Dietrich Bags $15,000 Lincoln Prize

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. — Danny Dietrich capped off the season at Lincoln Speedway in commanding fashion Saturday night, charging from tenth to the lead before pulling away from the field to capture the GPS Plumbing Final 50 and its $15,000 top prize. Dietrich also took home the $5,000 halfway bonus after having the lead on lap 25.

Dylan Norris set quick time earlier in the evening and carried that momentum into the feature, lining up alongside pole-sitter Brandon Rahmer for the start of the feature. Last year’s Final 50 winner, Cameron Smith, started fourth.

A spin by Tyler Ross in turn 1 brought out a caution on the initial start, setting up a complete restart. Rahmer secured the early lead, while Norris held off an immediate challenge from Matt Campbell for second. Smith eventually worked his way around Campbell for third, but Dietrich was on the move, taking fourth before setting his sights on Smith.

Dietrich grabbed third and quickly closed on Norris for second. By Lap 10, he had caught the runner-up and was challenging for the spot when a caution for Buddy Schweibinz, who stopped in turn 4, slowed the field.

The restart saw Norris look to the inside of Rahmer but he could not make the pass. Meanwhile, Chase Dietz continued his climb through the field, moving into the top five after starting twelfth. Anthony Macri was also making impressive progress. After qualifying through the B-Main and starting twentieth, Macri worked his way into the top eight and continued advancing as the race unfolded.

A caution on Lap 17 for Jude Siegel, who slowed in turn 4, set up another restart. Rahmer, Norris, Dietrich, Smith and Dietz occupied the top five positions for the restart, but the running order would soon change dramatically.

Dietrich’s move to the top on the restart proved decisive, as he swept around Norris and Rahmer to take the lead. Dietz and Macri continued their charge, with Macri advancing to sixth.

At the halfway mark, Dietrich remained in control and collected the $5,000 halfway bonus on Lap 25 before the competition red flag brought the field to a stop.

Dietrich led Norris, Rahmer, Dietz and Macri back to the restart. Dietz immediately worked underneath Rahmer to take third, while Macri moved into fourth. Smith soon returned to the top five as the battle behind the leader intensified.

Dietz continued his impressive run, taking second on lap 29 and setting his sights on Dietrich. Behind them, Macri was on a mission of his own. Having started 20th, Macri worked past both Smith and Norris to climb into third, relegating Norris to fifth.

Out front, Dietrich was already navigating lapped traffic by Lap 33. Holding a 2.375-second advantage over Dietz, the leader consistently found the preferred line around the high side while lapped cars occupied the bottom of the speedway.

Dietz was unable to significantly close the gap as Dietrich continued to stretch his advantage. With 10 laps remaining, the lead was approaching three seconds, and Dietrich only grew stronger as the laps wound down.

With five laps to go, Dietrich had extended his advantage to 3.697 seconds, putting the $15,000 victory firmly within reach as he powered toward the checkered flag.

The GPS Plumbing Final 50 brought the 2026 racing season at Lincoln Speedway to a close, delivering a fitting finale with a 50-lap battle, a major payday and a dominant performance by Dietrich. Dietz finished second and Macri passed 17 cars to finish third. Cameron Smith crossed the line fourth and Norris completed the top five.

Chase Gutshall Leads Wire-to-Wire in Lincoln Speedway’s 358 Sprint Car Season Finale

Chase Gutshall took command early and held onto the top spot for all 20 laps of the 358 Sprint Car feature Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway, for a strong finish in the season finale.

Gutshall and Dylan Smith brought the field to the green flag side by side, with Gutshall gaining the advantage coming out of turn 2 to lead the opening lap. Smith settled into second, followed by Ashley Cappetta in third, Jayden Wolf in fourth and Logan Spahr in fifth.

The race was slowed on lap 2 when Tylar Rutherford, Cody Fletcher and Tyler Ulrich were involved in an incident in turn 2, bringing out the red flag.

Gutshall led Smith, Cappetta, Wolf and Spahr back to the restart. Wolf went to the outside of Cappetta, edging her at the line to briefly take over third. Cappetta responded the following lap, reclaiming the position as the leaders began to settle into their rhythm.

Brock Hammaker worked his way into the top five as the race progressed, while Gutshall maintained his advantage at the front of the field.

By the halfway point on lap 10, Gutshall had entered lapped traffic, giving Smith an opportunity to close the gap. Cappetta also began reeling in the top two, setting up a three-car battle for the lead as the leaders worked through slower traffic.

Cappetta’s charge came to an unfortunate end on Lap 15 when she slowed coming off turn 2, bringing out the yellow flag. The tough break came while Cappetta was running third and firmly in contention with the leaders.

The caution set up a five-lap sprint to the finish, with Gutshall leading Smith, Wolf, Hammaker and Spahr for the restart.

With the season finale on the line, Gutshall looked to protect his position at the front while Smith prepared for one final challenge over the closing laps. Gutshall took the checkered flag ahead of Smith. Wolf secured the 2026 track championship with his third place finish. Hammaker finished fourth and Spahr was fifth.
