BUDAPEST, Hungary — He was made to work for it in the opening half of the Grand Prix, but in the end, Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) strolled to a seventh consecutive MotoGP victory in Sunday’s Michelin Grand Prix of Hungary.
It was the 10th victory of the season for Marquez who now leads the standings by a whopping 175 points over his brother Alex.
Marquez and Aprilia Racing rider Marco Bezzecchi made contact on the first lap with Bezzecchi taking the lead and Marquez falling into third behind Franco Morbidelli.
On Lap 11, Marquez pounced at Turn 1 and gained the lead. He paced the remaining distance.
Pedro Acosta rode his Red Bull KTM factory machine past Bezzecchi to finish second. Bezzecchi finished third.
Jorge Martin came home fourth for Aprilia with Luca Marini fifth for Honda.
