YAS MARINA, Singapore — Oscar Piastri has topped the time sheets during a disrupted second practices session for the Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
The Formula 1 championship leader, Piastri drove his McLaren to a fast lap of 1 minute and 30.714 seconds to lead the field.
The session that featured two red flags and an unusual pit lane incident between Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris.
After Fernando Alonso emerged as the pacesetter of first practice earlier in the day, it was Piastri who eventually came out on top in a session featuring track conditions more representative of those that can be expected in qualifying.
Isack Hadjar ended up second on the speed sheets in the Racing Bulls entry, while four-time world champion Max Verstappen was third for Red Bull.
Fernando Alonso took fourth for Aston Martin, with Norris turning the fifth quickest lap of the session.
Lance Stroll was sixth in the second Aston Martin, while Esteban Ocon was sevent for Haas F-1.
George Russell and Liam Lawson each brought out red flags with on-track incidents, while contact occurred between Leclerc and Norris in the pit lane when the Ferrari driver emerged alongside the McLaren, resulting in Norris being wheeled back into the garage to have his front wing replaced after making contact with the pit wall.
