A month after his sudden departure from Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team, Théo Pourchaire is set to return to the team this weekend in Toronto.
Following an on-track incident where Alexander Rossi sustained a broken right thumb, the team announced Saturday morning that Pourchaire will race the No. 7 Ryde Arrow McLaren Chevrolet for the remainder of the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto race weekend.
The 20-year-old will arrive to the track ahead of the qualifying session Saturday afternoon, missing practice two as he travels to Toronto from Europe.
Rossi has returned to Indianapolis to begin his treatment, the team updated in a release.
After five races with the team and a best finish of 10th in Detroit, Pourchaire was replaced in the No. 6 Chevrolet by Nolan Siegel in June.
